Ingredients

How to make it

  • Chop cabbage up fine
  • Slice onion into thin slices
  • Finely chop garlic
  • Peel and finely dice apple
  • Start a pot of boiling water to cook noodles according to package directions, or to al dente. **** Be sure and wait to cook your noodles just shortly before the meat and cabbage mix is finished, this will assure nice, not so sticky cold noodles. Nobody likes that!!!
  • -Brown the ground beef in a large frying pan, season to taste with salt and pepper. When browned, remove from pan, drain and set aside.
  • -Add butter to pan over medium heat.
  • -Add cabbage and onion, salt and pepper to taste, cover and cook until -tender until tender.
  • -Uncover and add garlic and continue to cook uncovered until cabbage and onions begin to caramelize and lower heat a bit
  • -Add vinegar, apple and brown sugar and mix well, continue cook until apple is tender and most of the moisture is gone.
  • -Add the beef back to pan and heat through.
  • At this point, put hot cooked noodles, cabbage, meat and onion mix in a large bowl and mix together well.
  • Serve with sour cream and a nice crusty bread for a simple, tasty "stick to your ribs" meal.
  • Enjoy!!
