Easy Ice Cream Cake Dessert

- 2, 9 inch cake layers, homemade or boxed, any flavor shopping list
- 1 rectangular box of your favorite ice cream, slightly softened shopping list
- 1 jar strawberry ice cream topping shopping list
- 1 jar pineapple topping shopping list
- 1 jar fudge or caramel sauce topping shopping list
- 1 large whipped topping shopping list
- nuts as desired. shopping list
- 1 tall, 9 inch spring-form pan shopping list
How to make it
- prepare your favorite layer cake, for 2, 9 inch layers
- cool well
- place one layer in the bottom of a spring-form pan
- Carefully spread a layer of ice cream on the cake,
- spread some ice cream topping over the cake
- Add another layer of ice cream
- add another flavor of topping and then add second layer of cake
- repeat procedure of adding more ice cream and topping
- On the top layer spread on the whipped topping to fully cover
- drizzle with caramel or fudge sauce
- sprinkle on nuts if desire
- cover with foil and place in freezer
- To serve,
- Remove cake from freezer, let stand at room temp 10-15 minutes
- release side of pan
- Cut cake carefully with a sharp knife
- Serve pieces of dessert immediately
- Return remaining cake to freezer
- Note: I even used sliced bananas and fresh sliced strawberries to make a frozen banana split cake another time!
- Note: You will not use all the ice cream and toppings in the recipe, so you will have leftovers of these items.
