Crockpot Pot Roast

- 1 (3-6 lb) chuck roast shopping list
- 2 tbsp olive oil shopping list
- Seasoning 1: pepper, thyme, salt, pepper and garlic powder shopping list
- 4 carrots chopped (large pieces) shopping list
- 4 celery stalks (large pieces) shopping list
- 1 large onion (chopped in large pieces shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic minced well shopping list
- 2 cans drained mushrooms shopping list
- 5 potatoes cut in large pieces shopping list
- 1 envelope dry onion mix shopping list
- 1 envelope au jus gravy shopping list
- 1 envelope brown or roast beef gravy mix shopping list
- 1 cup beef brother shopping list
- 1/4 cup red wine shopping list
- Seasoning 2: rosemary, thyme, pepper, paprika shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Heat olive oil in frying pan, add roast and season with seasoning 1 on both sides, brown each side.
- 2. Spray crock pot and put in browned roast
- 3. Add chopped vegetables
- 4. Add onion mix, au jus mix and 1/2 of brown gravy mix
- 5. Add water, broth and wine
- 6. Add seasoning 2
- 7. Cook 6 hours total
- 8. Remove vegetables when they become tender to plate, set aside
- 9. Remove meat at 5 hours
- 10. With water, mix balance of gravy mix to thicken sauce in pot. Add to pot and stir
- 11. Cut up meat and return to pot along with vegetable and lower temperature to warm
