Aunt Mary's Sugar Cookies

This is my go to recipe when I want a cookie base to cut into shapes and decorate. This sugar cookie does not puff up, and it's nice and crisp when you bite into it. Quick to mix up with only 7 ingredients and yummy to eat when they're baked. Read more It makes a small batch of cookies, you may want to double the recipe. :) Got it from an old co-worker of mine. Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup margarine shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar shopping list
How to make it
- Cream margarine, sugar, egg and vanilla together.
- Mix dry ingredients together then add to creamed mixture.
- Roll dough to 1/8-1/4" thickness (your preference) and cut with cutters.
- Bake in a 375F oven for 10 min.
- Ice and decorate.
