This a great burger on or off the bun. Steak cut french fries go well with this dish.

Ingredients
  • 1lb. ground chuck or ground round
  • 1 can mushrooms or 1 qrt. button head mushrooms sliced
  • 1 medium sized white onion or vidalia if in season
  • 2pkgs. of dry mushroom gravy mix ( Mcormicks)
  • 4 slices swiss cheese or your favorite
  • 4 sesame seed hamburger buns

Directions
  1. Half, Slice and seperate into almost julianned strips, do not dice.
  2. saute in your skillet the onions and mushrooms in oil, then combine 1/2 of onions and mushrooms to ground beef and mix into burger.
  3. Form into 4 patties and return to skillet and cook on medium heat until just seered on both sides.
  4. Drain excess fat from pan when almost cooked but not done
  5. in a sauce pan, make the mushroom gravy and add to skillet
  6. the rest of the onions and mushrooms to skillet.
  7. Continue cooking until burgers are medium to medium rare.
  8. Simmer and spoon gravy , mushrooms and onions over top of burgers
  9. add swiss on top to melt slightly
  10. warm your hamburger buns and assemble
  11. Great without any thing else but thats up to you!
  12. I like iceburg lettuce or romain and a garden fresh sliced tomato with salt and pepper, and a dab of mayo, and a touch of ketchup!!

Ok, so do you mean just slice the onion very thin? cause you cannot really julliene an onion.....
