How to make it

  • Combine first FOUR ingredients listed above and press on bottom and 1-1/2 inches up sides of 10-inch spring form pan.
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes or until golden.
  • Set aside and allow to cool.

  • Beat cream cheese until smooth.
  • Gradually add sugar, beating well.
  • Add cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg, blending well.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating just until combined.
  • Stir in applesauce and cream.
  • Pour into cooled crust.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until center appears nearly set.

  • ~meanwhile~
  • Prepare CRUMB TOPPING:
  • Combine last FIVE ingredients listed above until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle crumb topping over cake and bake 10 minutes more or until cake is just set.
  • Cool 5 minutes on wire rack.
  • Loosen sides of cake from pan.
  • Cool 30 minutes more.
  • Remove sides of pan.
  • Cover and chill thoroughly.

    My fave cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory is the Apple Crumb one - your recipes sounds like a wonderful clone of it...thank you for the post!! This goes into the "must try" file for sure.
