Traditional Buttermilk Pralines

- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 2 tablespoons white corn syrup shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- Pinch of salt shopping list
- Large lump of butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups pecans shopping list
How to make it
- Combine sugar, buttermilk, corn syrup, baking soda and salt in a large sauce pan and boil until candy thermometer reading is 238 stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat then add butter, vanilla and pecans.
- Beat until right consistency to drop from spoon onto wax paper.
- It thickens quickly so work fast.
