Chimi Burgers Recipe
I have always mixed ketchup, mustard and mayo together for sandwiches. I thought I was an oddball. When I found this recipe, I HAD to try it. It is awesome!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 pound ground beef chuck
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 large red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 good-quality buns, such as Kaiser, split
  • 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1 carrot, coarsely chopped
  • 1 red onion, cut into rings
  • 1 tomato, sliced thin
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard.

Directions
  1. In a bowl, mix together beef, onion, bell pepper, garlc, oregano, soy sauce, Worcesteshire sauce, salt and pepper.
  2. Form into 4- 41/2-inch-wide patties.
  3. Heat a 12-inch heavy skillet or large griddle over medium heat until hot, then lightly toast the buns.
  4. Oil skillet or griddle, the cook the patties, turn only once during cooking. About 4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  5. Transfer patties to buns.
  6. In a bowl, mix together cabbage, carrot and salt.
  7. Cook in the skillet, turning occasionally, until slightly wilted. About 2 minutes. I also added a splash of balsamic vinegar to the skillet. Divide among burgers.
  8. Oil griddle again, the sear onion and tomato, turning once, until lightly charred, about 2 minutes total.
  9. Divide among burgers.
  10. Stir together ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. Then top each burger with sauce.
  11. Grab a cold beer and ENJOY!
