Ingredients

PAM Cooking spray

2-1/4 cups all-purpose or whole wheat flour

3 Tbsp. sugar

1 Tbsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

12 ounces lager beer

2 Tbsp. olive oil

Note: I like to add a handful of chopped green olives and a clove of minced garlic. You could add a handful of walnuts or pecans as well.

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Spray an 8 inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Make a well in the center.

Pour in beer and olive oil and mix until just blended.

Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until golden brown and tester comes out clean.

Serves 8 - 10 slices

Hi Oma Shirley ;-) Anything goes with this loaf. Beef, pork, chicken seafood whatever your heart desires. Even pasta!!! It is very versatile and you can add your own extras ie. caraway seeds, poppy or sesame seeds. You could saute onions and add them along with 1 tsp. of onion powder. It's all up to the individual.
