How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Spray an 8 inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Make a well in the center.
  • Pour in beer and olive oil and mix until just blended.
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until golden brown and tester comes out clean.
  • Serves 8 - 10 slices

    This recipe is the best. I was just wondering how chunks of cheese would work in this Beer Loaf recipe? I bet cheese would be a perfect addition, as long as it didn't prevent the loaf from rising. 5 forks from me :D

    Hi Oma Shirley ;-) Anything goes with this loaf. Beef, pork, chicken seafood whatever your heart desires. Even pasta!!! It is very versatile and you can add your own extras ie. caraway seeds, poppy or sesame seeds. You could saute onions and add them along with 1 tsp. of onion powder. It's all up to the individual.
