Ingredients
  • 1-6 to 8 pound bone-in, fully cooked ham (shank or butt end)
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 325°
  2. Have ready a foil-lined shallow roasting pan filled with a rack.
  3. Place ham on the rack and bake for about an hour.
  4. Pour the pan juices into a 1 quart saucepan and place in the freezer for about 10 minutes to cool.
  5. Pour syrup over ham and return to oven.
  6. Bake 1/2 hour longer, basting once with syrup from pan.
  7. Meanwhile, remove saucepan from freezer.
  8. Skim off and discard fat.
  9. Whisk in flour and mustard until smooth.
  10. Wisk in water and Worcestershire sauce.
  11. Increase the oven temp. to 375° and baste ham again with pan drippings.
  12. Bake about 15 minutes longer. Use meat thermometer to check that the thickest part of meat, not touching the bone, is 140°.
  13. Remove ham to cutting board and let stand 15 minutes before carving.
  14. Add drippings from the roasting pan to the saucepan.
  15. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking often.
  16. Boil gently 2-3 minutes until thickened. Pour into a gravy boat and serve with ham.
  17. ***Holiday hams are either this or the Coca-Cola® Ham, which I have also posted and turns out excellent as well***
