Ingredients

How to make it

  • using your favorite cookie cutter,cut a shape out of the center of each piece of bread
  • break each egg into a seperate bowl
  • melt the butter inthe frying pan
  • fry the bread on one side until it is golden brown,then flip it over witha spatula
  • pour 1egginto the hole in each piece of bread
  • cover the pan and cook over low heat for about 5 mins,until each egg is done

    This is a favorite classic . . . we call it egg-in-the-hole, too. Also, love to melt a slice of american cheese on top as it finishes cooking ~ yummy.

    we call them birds in a nest . this is one of my kids favorite ways to eat fried eggs ....while cooking them i add a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper ...and mama needs her hot sauce of course ! ;-)

    This sounds good. I have heard of this before but it was called frogs in the hole or one-eyed jacks. I like this one better and it sounds tastier too.
