How to make it

  • Place the rinsed and drained sauerkraut in a large 4-quart casserole.
  • Add 2 quarts of hot water.
  • Add uncooked spareribs, paprika, bouillon cubes, caraway seeds and pepper.
  • Cook, covered, over low heat for 3-4 hours.
  • Remove bones from sauerkraut.
  • Coat bacon in flour and fry each slice.
  • Break bacon into sauerkraut.
  • Serve with good dark bread.
