French Toast Custards

- 4 oz. cinnamon (or cinnamon raisin) bread shopping list
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 2 tbs. brown sugar shopping list
- 1-2 cups boiling water shopping list
How to make it
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cut (or rip) bread into small pieces, distribute between 4 half-cup ramekins.
- Beat egg and yolk in a medium bowl until slightly thickened.
- Combine milk, cream and brown sugar in a saucepan, heat over medium low heat until bubbles rise around the edges, stirring occasionally.
- Slowly drizzle milk into eggs while stirring continuously.
- Pour custard over bread in ramekins.
- Place ramekins in baking dish, add enough boiling water to come halfway up the cups.
- Bake in the oven for approximately 40 minutes until the custard is set.
