How to make it

  • Position your oven rack to the center of the oven. Preheat oven to 350°.
  • In a saucepan over medium-heat, melt butter.
  • Add onion and cook, stirring often, until the onions are translucent.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the Brandy.
  • In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, swiss cheese, and parmesan cheese.
  • Stir in onions and mix well.
  • Transfer to a heat-proof 1 quart baking dish.
  • At this point, you can cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate if making the day before. You'll just have to adjust the cooking time to accomodate the chilled dish.
  • Bake until bubbly, about 30 minutes, and serve hot with dippers.
