How to make it

  • In large pot, combine ingredients.
  • Over low heat, simmer until almost all the liquid is evaporated and onions are softened.
  • Remove from heat and cool.
  • Pack in glass jars and chill.
  • Will keep 4 to 6 months (but here it never lasts that long!)

    With all the onion lovers in my family, this would definitely make some great gifts - sounds like it would be very tasty with roasted meats.
