Sweet and Hot Spaghetti

- 1 pound #8 spaghetti, cooked al denté shopping list
- 3/4 pound bacon, cooked crispy, drained and crumbled shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1-28 ounce can + 1 14.5 ounce can whole tomatoes shopping list
- 1 block cracker Barrel Extra Sharp white cheese, grated shopping list
- red pepper to taste shopping list
- hot sauce to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Cook spaghetti to al denté drain, add some butter, cover and set aside.
- Preheat oven to 425°.
- Spray a casserole dish with non-stick spray and set aside.
- In a skillet, cook bacon, drain on paper towels and crumble. Save some bacon fat in the skillet.
- Put the tomatoes in a blender and blend.
- In the skillet with the bacon fat, and the tomatoes.
- Add the sugar, red pepper, and a dash or 2 of hot sauce.
- Cook over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes stirring often.
- In the casserole dish, layer half the spaghetti, 1/2 the grated cheese, and half the tomato mixture.
- Repeat.
- Bake for 45 minutes until hot and bubbly.
- Serve with crusty warm, buttered bread.
