How to make it

  • Combine flour, butter, cheese, cornstarch, cayenne, and thyme in a bowl with a pastry knife until it resembles small crumbs.
  • Add sour cream and combine.
  • Divide the dough in half.
  • Form each into a 2 inch wide log and flatten to about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Slice the logs into 1/2 inch pieces and arrange on baking sheets that are covered with parchment paper.
  • Brush the top of each with milk and sprinkle with pepper.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
