Ingredients

1 1/2 cups Sugar

1/2 cup Margarine, softened

1/2 cup Vegetable Shortening

2 large Eggs

2 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour

2 teaspoons Cream of Tartar

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

1/4 teaspoon Salt

1/4 cup Sugar

3 teaspoons Cinnamon

Directions

Beat sugar, margarine and shortening together with an electric mixer at medium speed.

Add one egg at a time, beating after each egg, until well blended. Should be a pale yellow.

In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.

gradually add to sugar mixture, stirring after each addition, until well blended.

Refrigerate dough for about 15 minutes, so it's easier to handle.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix together 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in shallow dish.

Form dough into tablespoon balls and roll in cinnamon/sugar mixture.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8-11 minutes, until edges are a nice golden brown.

Cool completely on rack.

Makes about 2 dozen, depending on size of cookie you prefer.
