Cherry Dumplings

- 2 1/4 c. ( about 20 oz can) sour cherries shopping list
- 3/4 c. sugar shopping list
- dumpling batter( STEP # 2 in directions)) shopping list
- ingredients needed for batter: shopping list
- 1c. sifted cake flour shopping list
- 1/4c. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- grated rind of 1 orange shopping list
- 1/3 cup of milk shopping list
- 2 tsp. melted margarine shopping list
How to make it
- Step # 1
- Put undrained cherries and sugar in a large, deep skillet, bring to a boil
- Drop dumpling batter by tablespoon into boiling fruit to make 4-6 dumplings.
- Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
- Serve immediately
- Step # 2
- Dumpling Batter:
- Sift dry ingredients into a bowl
- Add remaining ingredients
- Mix lightly and quickly until blended
- DO NOT mix smooth.
