Heavenly Chocolate Layered Dessert

- 1 (18.25-ounce) chocolate fudge cake mix shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1 (3.9-ounce) package chocolate fudge instant pudding mix shopping list
- 2 cups cold milk shopping list
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 (8-ounce) containers frozen whipped topping, thawed shopping list
- 6 (1.4-ounce) toffee candy bars*, coarsely chopped, reserve 1/4 cup for topping shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Lightly grease a 9x13x2-inch baking pan (I use PAM spray)
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg, and butter, stir until well blended. Press mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes. Cover and chill for 5 minutes.
- In another mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar on low speed using an electric mixer until smooth. Fold in 8 ounces of whipped topping.
- When cake is cooled, sprinkle all but 1/4 cup of the chopped toffee candy evenly over cake layer. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over candy bar layer. Spread pudding evenly over cream cheese layer. Spread remaining whipped topping over pudding layer. Sprinkle with reserved chopped candy bar.
- Cover, chill and ENJOY!
- *Heath or Skor candy bars work well.
