Orecchiette Pasta With Peas Bacon And Cream Recipe
Simple but tasty past recipe. Very filling. Good with a spinach salad.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound orecchiette pasta
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 c diced onion
  • 1 c frozen or shelled fresh peas
  • 4 tablespoon water
  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 1 1/2 c heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Boil water
  2. Cook bacon well and chop into small pieces.
  3. Add 3 tablespoon of the butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. When the butter starts to bubble, add onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until translucent, stirring often.
  4. Add the peas and water to the pan and cook 3 minutes, stirring.
  5. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  6. In the pan with the peas, stir in the bacon and cook 2 minutes. Add the cream; bring to a low simmer and cook about 8 minutes.
  7. Drain pasta; place in large serving bowl. Stir remaining 3 tablespoons butter into the cream mixture over low heat until melted. Stir in the cheese. Pour sauce over pasta and toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

This recipe was quite good but I have a few suggestions.

1. Move the "cook pasta" part to like 3rd in the recipe. I cooked the pasta first and it was done well before I needed the water from it...much less being ready to serve. I was forced to re-heat it by the time I was done.

2. needs garlic...but what doesnt?
