Seafood Bread Bowl Dip Recipe
This sure beats spinach dip in a bread shell! It makes a lot, so have a hungry crowd on hand.

Ingredients
  • 32 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound small cooked salad shrimp
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • cayenne pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup sweet onion, minced
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 (10 to 12 inch) round loaf crusty bread, unsliced
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions
  1. Cut a 2 inch slice from top of bread.
  2. Hallow out bread, leaving a 1/2 inch thick shell.
  3. Brush inside of bread with beaten egg.
  4. Bake at 300 degrees until dry.
  5. Combine remaining ingredients.
  6. Fill bread shell with cream cheese mixture.
  7. Replace top and wrap in a double layer of foil. Place on rimmed baking sheet.
  8. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours.
  9. Unwrap, place on serving platter and surround with bread cubes for dipping.
