A combination of two seasonal favourites, pumpkin pie and pecan pie, make this decadent, rich dessert.

Ingredients
  • Unbaked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2/3 cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions
  1. Pumpkin Layer:
  2. Combine 1 egg, pumpkin, 1/3 cup sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.
  3. Spread gently over bottom of unbaked pie shell.
  4. Pecan Layer:
  5. Combine 2 eggs, corn syrup, 1/2 cup sugar, milk, butter and vanilla.
  6. Stir in pecans.
  7. Pour carefully over pumpkin layer in pie shell.
  8. Bake in 375-degree F oven for 50 minutes.

Hi......Can i use Pumpkin Pie mix out of a can? and if so, what do i add or take away?


Take out the sugar and spices, and taste test before adding anything else. It should work out OK.
