Cocoa Cake

- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup Hersheys unsweetened cocoa shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vinegar (i use apple cidar vinegar) shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- grease and flour 8-inch square or 9-inch round baking pan
- In large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt
- Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla
- beat with spoon or wire whisk just until batter is smooth and ingredients are well blended
- pour batter into prepared pan
- bake 35 to 40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean
- cool in pan

Okay I just put the cake in the oven, but I found the batter very very very dry... had to add about 1/4 cup more water to get it to a "batter" and not a "dough"... did I leave something out? I followed your directions exactly.
