Shrimp Fra Diavolo with whole wheat linguine

- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1 onion chopped shopping list
- 2 cloves of garlic minced shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup canned crushed tomatoes in thick puree (16 oz can) shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 pound medium shrimp (shelled) shopping list
- 3/4 pound whole wheat linguini (or your choice of pasta) shopping list
How to make it
- In a large frying pan heat oil over moderately low heat
- Add onion, stiring occasionally, until translucent, about 5 minutes
- Ass the garlic and cook stirring 30 seconds longer.
- Stir in tomatos, red pepper flakes, water, parsely, and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes
- Meanwhile, prepare pasta in boiling water as directed and drain
- Add in shrimp to tomato sauce and cook, covered just until shrimp are pink, about 4 minutes
- Toss drained pasta with sauce and shrimp and serve
