Chocolate Tea Bread

- 1/2 cup applesauce shopping list
- 1/3 cup shortening shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup baking cocoa shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/3 cup chopped nuts, optional and of choice shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar shopping list
- 1-2 tablespoons milk shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
How to make it
- In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, shortening, eggs, water and sugar.
- Beat on low speed for 30 seconds.
- In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients.
- Gradually add to applesauce mixture.
- Beat on low for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Switch to high and beat for 2-1/2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Pour into a greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350° for 60-70 minutes or until cake test comes out done.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool. completely.
- In a bowl, combine glaze ingredients until mixed well.
- Drizzle over warm bread.
