How to make it
- Pour the oil* over the salad greens and toss to coat them. Sprinkle on the vinegar*; add any salad additives or vegetables and serve. Season as you like.
- * Note: Use any flavorful oil or vinegar you like.
- Note: This is the first of what became thousands of Salad Dressings and when shaken together became one of the basic sauces of French Cuisine, an emulsion sauce.
