Ingredients

How to make it

  • Pour salad oil into a wide frying pan to about 1/2-inch thick.
  • Heat oil to 375°. (Check temperature with a deep-frying thermometer.)
  • Add tortillas, only one at a time, and cook, turning quickly and carefully with 2 wide spatulas, until they are bubbly and just golden but still soft and flexible. ABOUT 30 SECONDS!!!
  • Using spatulas, lift out each tortilla and immediately bend in the center so one half is perpendicular to the other.
  • Let drain on paper towels, propped against a can or other sturdy object so it hold its shape as it cools.
  • Repeat until all are fried.
  • Make Beef Filling:
  • Crumble the ground beef into a wide frying pan over medium heat and cook. Stirring to break up until the meat is browned.
  • Spoon off and discard fat.
  • Add the onions and cook stirring often, until soft.
  • Stir in the chili powder, oregano leaves, paprika, cumin, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce.
  • Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring often until heated through.
  • Season with garlic salt to taste.
  • To Assemble tacos:
  • Place 2 fried tortillas on a plate per person.
  • Sprinkle with 1 cup shredded lettuce.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup mexican seasoned shredded cheese onto each.
  • Spool about 1 cup of the meat filling onto each.
  • Peel, pit and slice avocados.
  • Garnish each taco with some avocado, tomato, olives and sour cream.
  • ENJOY!!!
