How to make it

  • Mix corn meal, salt and water.
  • Preheat oven to 475 and heat oil in a round iron skillet in the hot oven.
  • Carefully spread mixture evenly in skillet.
  • Spoon some of the fat that comes to the edges up on top of the batter.
  • Bake for 12 minutes then broil for 3 minutes to get crispy around the edges.
  • Cut into pie shape slices and serve.
