Old Fashioned Spaghetti and Meatballs

- 1/3 cup bulgur shopping list
- 1/2 cup hot water shopping list
- 4 ounces lean ground beef shopping list
- 4 ounces hot italian sausage shopping list
- 1 medium white onion very finely chopped shopping list
- 2 large egg whites lightly beaten shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic very finely chopped shopping list
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper shopping list
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs shopping list
- 4 cups prepared marinara sauce shopping list
- 1/2 cup slivered fresh basil leaves shopping list
- 1 pound whole-wheat spaghetti shopping list
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese shopping list
How to make it
- To prepare meatballs combine bulgur and water in a small bowl.
- Let stand until bulgur is tender and liquid is absorbed about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Coat a rack with cooking spray and place it over a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Combine ground beef, sausage, onion, egg whites, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs and the soaked bulgur in a large bowl and mix well.
- Form mixture into 1” meatballs then place meatballs on rack and bake for 25 minutes.
- Blot well with paper towels.
- To prepare sauce and spaghetti put a large pot of lightly salted water on to boil.
- Bring sauce to a simmer in a dutch oven.
- Add meatballs to sauce and simmer covered for 20 minutes.
- Stir in basil.
- Meanwhile cook spaghetti for 10 minutes then drain and transfer to a serving bowl.
- Top with sauce and meatballs and serve with grated cheese.

I don't know what "Bulgur" is but I'm sure Google does. LOL Thanks for the posting it sounds real good :)
