Homemade Croutons Recipe
I make these for my ceasar salad and they are so delicious.. They have a nice light crunch to them. It makes 2 cups.

Ingredients
  • 5 slices of bread ( I use whole wheat bread )
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Directions
  1. preheat oven to 300 degress
  2. Remove the crusts from the bread and cut into cubes.
  3. Melt the butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add garlic and saute 1 minute.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and let it cool slightly
  6. add bread cubes, stirring until well-coated with butter mixture. Cool slightly.
  7. Combine Parmesan, oregano and thyme in heavy plastic or paper bag.
  8. Add bread cubes; toss to coat evenly with cheese mixture.
  9. Spread bread cubes in an even layer on an ungreased baking dish.
  10. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp, stirring occasionally.
