Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar

I have made these several times over the year. My kids do most of the work and they like to give them to their teachers as Christmas gifts. You can get real creative on the jars decorations. Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans shopping list
- 1 cup chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups flour mixed with 1 tsp. baking soda and 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
How to make it
- Layer ingredients in order in a 1 quart "wide mouth" canning jar.
- Press each layer in place before adding next ingredient.
- For the tag that you will tie on to the jar : (This is for the person receiving this gift) PRINT the following....
- Empty jar of cookie mix into large bowl
- Mix well
- Add 1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Mix until completely blended.
- Shape into balls and place on cookie sheet
- Bake at 350* for 13- 15 minutes.
- Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
