A hearty spaghetti sauce. This one is a favorite in our house.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 sweet yellow onion, diced
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 ( 8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste.
  • 1 lb. uncooked spaghetti noodles

Directions
  1. In a large, deep skillet, brown the ground beef.
  2. Add mushroom, green bell pepper and onion and cook until vegetables are tender.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, all tomato sauce, and all spices.
  5. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat.
  6. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  7. Cook spaghetti according to package.
  8. This goes well with a salad and crusty bread.
