DEEP FRIED FROG LEGS Recipe
When we lived up north.. we used to go frogin... gigging I think they called it... I found this recipe in McCalls Recipe cards... Cheap dinner then.. Now you pay and arm and a leg for these if you eat them out!

Ingredients
  • 12 pairs frog legs
  • Milk
  • Salad or peanut oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • Lemon Wedges

Directions
  1. In a shallow pan... arrange legs in single layer.. Add enough milk to cover legs.. Let stand for 1 hour
  2. Heat oil 2-2 1/2 inches deep in medium saucepan to 375f
  3. In a plastic bag.. combine flour and seasonings
  4. drain legs but do not dry
  5. add frog legs a few at a time to flour... shake to coat evenly
  6. Drop a few at a time in hot oil and cook until golden brown, turning once.. about 5 minutes
  7. Drain on paper towels
  8. Serve with Lemon wedges and a good tarter sauce...
  9. These are wonderful!
  10. Give it a try!

Yep, tastes like chicken....You're right! You can't find frog legs anymore and they are priced high!! Jett


I want to go frog gigging.I have only ate them a few times,they taste alot like chicken.
