Turkey Applesauce Meatballs

- MEATBALLS: shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce shopping list
- 1 c. soft bread crumbs shopping list
- 1 tsp kosher salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper shopping list
- dash of freshly grated nutmeg shopping list
- 1 lb. ground turkey shopping list
- SAUCE: shopping list
- 1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed tomato soup, undiluted shopping list
- 1/4 c. water shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. horseradish shopping list
- a few dashes of Worchestershire sauce to taste shopping list
- a few dashes of louisiana hot sauce to taste shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. In a large skillet, gently brown meatballs over medium heat; drain. Transfer to an ungreased 2-qt. baking dish.
- Combine sauce ingredients; pour over meatballs. Cover and bake at 325° for 45-50 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Yield: 4 servings.
