- 1 cup slivered almonds, or pecans shopping list
- 4 large egg whites at room temperature shopping list
- 1 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 1/2 ground almonds shopping list
- 1/2 cup dates (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Preheat oven to 350
- 2. Spread the almonds on cookie sheet and toast until lightly
- colored, 3 5 min.
- 2. Reduce oven temp. to 300.
- 3. Beat the egg whites until foamy, gradually add the sugar
- continuing to beat until the whites are stiff and shiny, about 10
- min.
- 5. Gently fold in the ground almonds and the dates.
- 6. drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet, spacing 1 in.
- apart. Bake until the cookies are golden and dry. OR put the
- cookies in the oven, turn the oven off, and in the morning the
- cookies will be done.
- makes 3 dozen.
