Deeper Shade of Brown Brownies

- 1 stick unsalted butter shopping list
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- In heavy saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate, whisking until smooth
- Remove pan from heat
- Add sugar, eggs, vanilla, whisk until well blended
- Whisk in the flour, salt, until just blended
- Stir in walnuts
- Pour into buttered and floured 8 x 8 square baking pan or dish
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in middle comes out *just a little sticky* with a few crumbs
- Be careful not to overbake
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack
- Chill, then cut in squares (don't have to chill)
- If chilled, let them stand at room temperature before serving
