Mels Cajun Boiled Peanuts

- 1 lb bag raw peanuts shopping list
- 2 tbsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1 c kosher salt (or to taste) shopping list
- 1 tbsp Lawrey's cajun seasoning salt shopping list
- Frank's hot sauce (approx. 2 cups) shopping list
How to make it
- Rinse peanuts in water. In 3 1/2 qt Crock pot add peanuts and fill 2/3rds with water. Pour salt in to brine the peanuts. Add salt to taste. I believe I may have used about a cup, but didn't measure. Make sure there is room in the pot to add the hot sauce.
- Add the cajun seasoning salt (again to taste) as well as cayenne. Then add frank's hot sauce to fill the crock pot to the normal capacity. I think it may have been a couple of cups worth of sauce .
- Cook peanuts on high for 18 hours+.. stirring often. I had to put a bowl to hold down the peanuts as they float until they become waterlogged with sauce.
- Makes a slew o'nuts.
