- Syrup: shopping list
- 750 ml cold water shopping list
- 200 g sugar shopping list
- 10 ml butter or margarine shopping list
- 7 ml grounded cinnamon shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- dough: shopping list
- 140 g self raising flour shopping list
- 100 g sugar shopping list
- 1 ml baking powder shopping list
- 1 ml salt shopping list
- 40 g butter or margarine, room temperature shopping list
- 1 extra large egg shopping list
- 100 ml cold water shopping list
How to make it
- Syrup:
- Bring all the syrups' ingredients to the boil.
- Dough:
- Sift all the dry ingredients together.
- Work the butter into the dry ingredients with your fingers.
- Whisk the egg and water together.
- Mix together.
- Place spoonfuls of the dough into the boiling syrup.
- Use a dessert spoon for this.
- Lower the heat.
- Put a tight fitting lid on.
- Simmer for 8 minutes.
- Do not lift the lid.
- Take off and serve hot.
