How to make it

  • Combine nuts, sugar and butter in a saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat 15 minutes, stirring constantly, until nuts are well-coated and sugar is caramelized.
  • Quickly stir in vanilla.
  • Spread on a sheet of heavy foil and, using two forks, quickly separate nuts.
  • Cool and store in an airtight container.
  • Makes about 1/2 pound.
