Lentil Soup

- 1 cup dry lentils, cleaned shopping list
- 4 cups beef broth shopping list
- 1/4 cup tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 onion, diced shopping list
- 1 tbsp olive oil shopping list
- 1 tsp italian seasoning shopping list
- salt and pepper, to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the oil and onions into a large saucepan over a medium heat. Saute for 5 minutes, or until onions become tender. Mix in the broth and allow the mixture to come to a boil.
- Add the lentils, tomato sauce and seasoning. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes, or until lentils become tender. Salt and pepper, to taste, then serve.
