Lentil Soup Recipe
A fast and simple way to make Lentil Soup. Packed full of spices and full of flavor.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup dry lentils, cleaned
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Directions
  1. Combine the oil and onions into a large saucepan over a medium heat. Saute for 5 minutes, or until onions become tender. Mix in the broth and allow the mixture to come to a boil.
  2. Add the lentils, tomato sauce and seasoning. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes, or until lentils become tender. Salt and pepper, to taste, then serve.

Sounds good. I will use vegetable rather than beef broth and am going to kitchen now to start it. will let you know if veg brothe as good. I don't eat much animal stuff; working in vgetarian life style.


Well, I did and it came out reall7 good. I had never liked nor hardly ever eaten lintels so I was surprised. The next time I srved it, just to make a bit of a different serving, I added just a smidgion of cream of mushroom soup, a whiff of freshly ground Corriander (go easy, it is powerful), a small scoop of raisins and a quick sprinkle of grated chedar! Make you knock the kids away from the table!
