turkish yogurt doughnuts

- * 100 g (3 1/2 oz.) thick yogurt shopping list
- * 2 eggs shopping list
- * 700 g (1 1/2 lb.) flour shopping list
- * A pinch of baking soda shopping list
- * olive oil for frying shopping list
- For the syrup shopping list
- * 200 g (1 cup) sugar shopping list
- * 200 ml (3/4 cup) water shopping list
- * 1 tsp. lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- 1. Make the syrup by combining the sugar, water and lemon juice. Boil for 2 minutes and remove from the heat.
- 2. Beat the eggs with the yogurt and, with a wooden spoon, mix in the baking soda and as much flour as needed to make a soft dough.
- 3. Heat the oil, and in another container have some oil at room temperature.
- 4. First dip a spoon into the cold oil, then take a spoonful of dough and drop it into the hot oil to cook for 2 or 3 minutes. Use your finger to push the batter off the spoon if necessary,
- 5. Drain the doughnuts on paper towels then immerse in the syrup for 3-4 minutes.
- 6. Place on a platter. Drizzle with the remaining syrup and serve.
