The Waldorf Salad, time honored wonderful flavor.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups unpeeled, cored, diced apples
  • 2 tablespoons lemon, juice
  • 1 cup sliced celery hearts
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped English walnuts
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

Directions
  1. Core the apples but do not peel. Dice them into bite size pieces. Sprinkle on the lemon juice to keep the apples from turning.
  2. Slice the celery hearts and add to the apples. Add raisins and walnuts and toss to mix.
  3. Fold in the mayonnaise gently, tossing only to coat the ingredients.
  4. Refrigerate until needed. Serve 1/4 of salad mixture on 1/2 cup of shredded lettuce.
