How to make it

  • Prick the sausages with a fork and grill under a moderate heat for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove from grill and make a slit in each sausage, lengthways.
  • Wedge a slice of cheese into each slit.
  • Cut the rind from the backon and spread with the chutney.
  • Wrap the bacon round the sausages and pin securely with cocktail sticks.
  • Return to the grill and cook for about 5 minutes, until bacon is crispy and cheese is melting.
  • Toast the bread, spread with butter and serve with sausages
