Ingredients
  • Ma Conlin's Apple Pie
  • 6 cups peeled, sliced apples (Idared, Golden Delicious,
  • Jonathan, Granny Smith)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch ground nutmeg
  • Box prepared pastry for double-crust 9-inch pie (they are as
  • good as my crust and less work)
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.

Directions
  1. Combine apples and lemon juice in mixing bowl. Combine sugar,
  2. flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; mix well. Pour sugar mixture over
  3. apples, and stir to coat. Spoon filling into pastry-lined 9-inch
  4. pie pan.
  5. Place top pastry to top of pie. Fold edges under to seal, and
  6. flute rim. Cut slits, decorative or not, into top pastry for
  7. steam to escape. Bake in preheated 400°F oven for 45-50 minutes.
