This cookie recipe comes from one of those classic Pillsbury cookbooks that you find at the grocery checkouts. I was easily distracted by them in the past and have quite a collection! This particular cookie was one of the top favorites at Christmas... More

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 T water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 (6 oz.) chocolate mint candy wafers
  • Bag of pecans

Directions
  1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine, eggs, water, and vanilla.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Stir in the 3 cups of flour, baking soda and salt.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
  6. Enclose each wafer in about 1 tablespoon of the dough.
  7. Place the cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Top each with a pecan half.
  9. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes.
  10. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
