Pork Chop And Sauerkraut Casserole Recipe
Another recipe that I make often. If you love chops and you love kraut this is the recipe for you. Such a great blend of flavors. My family loves this.

Ingredients
  • 5 slices bacon
  • 16 ounce can sauerkraut
  • 6 pork chops
  • 1 large white onion sliced thin
  • 3 large potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 16 ounce can solid pack tomatoes chopped
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seed

Directions
  1. Cover bottom of a casserole with slices of bacon then top back with a layer of sauerkraut.
  2. Layer chops on top with a layer of onion rings.
  3. Next arrange a layer of thin potato slices then cover with tomatoes.
  4. Season with salt, pepper and caraway seeds.
  5. Cover and bake at 350 for 2 hours.

Do you really put the bacon and pork in there raw?
there is no browning beforehand?

Tried this last night and it was really good. I don't usually like casserole dishes but this was a nice exception. Thanks.
