Cranberry Nut Bread

- 1 Cup Chopped Fresh or frozen cranberries shopping list
- ¾ Cup Chopped nuts shopping list
- 1 Tlbs Grated orange peel (optional) shopping list
- 2 Cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 Cup sugar shopping list
- 1-1/2 teas baking powder shopping list
- 1 teas salt shopping list
- ½ teas baking soda shopping list
- 2 Tlbs shortening shopping list
- ¾ Cups orange juice shopping list
- 1 egg, Beaten Well shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Liberally grease and lightly flour
- 9X5X3-inch loaf pan. Individually prepare cranberries, nuts and
- orange peel (optional) for use. Set aside. Mix flour, sugar,
- baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a bowl. Cut in
- shortening. Stir in orange juice, egg and orange peel
- (optional), mixing just enough to moisten. Fold in cranberries
- and nuts. Spoon mixture into a prepared pan. Bake 60 minutes
- or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool
- on rack for 15 minutes. Remove loaf from pan, cool completely.
- Wrap and store overnight.
