How to make it

  • Place meat in a gallon-sized ziploc bag, and add lemon juice, onion, garlic, and oil. Marinate overnight or at least for a few hours.
  • Remove meat from bag; discard marinade. Salt/pepper meat lightly.
  • Grill for 5 minutes on each side (may need longer cooking time for chicken). Wrap in foil and let meat rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice into thin strips against the grain.

    I just wanted to add that last time I made this, I pureed the marinade ingredients in the blender before marinating. Before cooking the meat (I did skirt steak and chicken breast both, marinated separately), I rubbed off most of the marinade so it wouldn't burn on the grill. It came out great, and all of the meat was really nicely seasoned!
