Green Bean And Mushroom Casserole Recipe
This can be made ahead and frozen. Nice with poultry, serves a crowd.

Ingredients
  • 1 1kg. pkg frozen French style green beans
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 roasted red pepper, chopped (fresh or canned)
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • dash Worcestershire sauce
  • dash Tobasco
  • freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 3/4 slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Directions
  1. Cook beans for 5 minutes, drain and set aside
  2. Saute mushrooms, onions in butter until tender.
  3. In large bowl, mix all ingredients except 1 cup cheese and almonds.
  4. Pour into a greased 9"x13" dish.
  5. Top with almonds and cheese and bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
